Daniel Emelandu Udochukwu

Daniel Udochukwu Emelandu was born into a Christian family of five children and raised in a humble, God-fearing home. His parents instilled strong Christian values in all their children, bringing them up in the fear of God and with a deep respect for spiritual discipline. From an early age, Daniel developed a strong passion to know God Almighty, the Creator of mankind in His own image and likeness.

This passion was nurtured through regular family devotions, as his parents ensured the family gathered every morning for prayer and Bible study before school, and again at night before going to bed for prayers. Growing up in this environment helped Daniel cultivate a lifestyle of reverence for God, a habit that remained with him as he matured.

His early love for God and His Word led him to find joy in preaching the Gospel to his peers during his primary and secondary school years. This commitment continued into his university days, where he would wake up as early as 5:00 a.m. to preach in his hostel, encouraging fellow students to live godly lives and turn away from sin. He would preach from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., return to his room to prepare, and be in the lecture hall by 8:00 a.m. for his classes.

This routine continued until his second year at the university, when he was introduced to the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) through his father. His father, who also had a deep interest in the things of God, regularly attended churches and crusades to remain spiritually grounded, and this ultimately influenced Daniel’s spiritual journey.

Before his encounter with the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Daniel experienced a period marked by profound spiritual encounters that he did not initially understand. During this time, he began to receive a series of revelations concerning matters that were unfamiliar to him. These revelations often occurred during extended periods of fasting and prayer.

Fasting had already become a regular spiritual discipline in his life, as he fasted at least twice every month, an upbringing rooted in the practices taught by his parents. From an early age, Daniel was introduced to fasting without food and water. His first experience of a three day fast occurred at the age of fifteen.

His father, who was well grounded in spiritual discipline and later passed the same knowledge to his wife, gradually introduced Daniel and his elder brother to structured fasting and prayer. What began as fasting and prayer from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every Wednesday and Friday later progressed to full day fasts. Over time, this spiritual training advanced to two day fasts, and eventually to three consecutive days of fasting and prayer.

Even at such a young age, Daniel was able to observe three day dry fasts several times a month without complications. These experiences further deepened his spiritual sensitivity and prepared him for the transformation that would later take place in his life.

During one period of three days of dry fasting, Daniel had a significant dream in which he saw himself capturing wild animals and birds such as cats, snakes, bats, owls, vultures, hyenas, centipedes, and crocodiles. In the dream, he gathered these creatures and locked them inside a very large cage, securing it firmly with a padlock. At the same time, within the same revelation, he found himself holding a key to another large cage that contained gentle animals such as sheep, cattle, monkeys, giraffes, and birds like pigeons and doves. He opened this cage and allowed these animals to go free.

Each time Daniel awoke from such revelations, he reflected deeply on them but could not understand their meaning. This continued for several years until he encountered Senior Prophet T. B. Joshua in the early 1990s. On a particular day during a class session where Prophet T. B. Joshua was teaching, he asked if anyone had revelations to share. Daniel took the opportunity to narrate the dreams he had been having for many years.

After listening briefly, Prophet T. B. Joshua immediately stopped him from continuing. Daniel felt uneasy and assumed he may have spoken wrongly or offended the anointing upon the prophet. However, about two hours after the lecture, a church worker was sent to call Daniel into Prophet T. B. Joshua’s office. The door was closed, and he was asked to repeat the revelations in detail.

After carefully narrating the dreams again, Prophet T. B. Joshua asked him whether he had been sharing these revelations with everyone he met. Daniel replied that he had not shared them with anyone, not even his parents, because he did not understand their meaning.

The prophet responded approvingly and advised him to keep the revelations to himself to avoid envy and jealousy, assuring him that he would find time later to explain them to him.

Indeed, on a faithful Wednesday afternoon, Senior Prophet T. B. Joshua returned from the prayer mountain and asked Daniel to follow him to his office. Upon entering, he ensured that no one else was present. He then asked Daniel once again to begin from the very start and carefully narrate all his dreams. This private meeting in the office lasted for about two hours.

After Daniel had finished explaining his revelations, Prophet T. B. Joshua spoke to him and said that God loved him deeply and desired to use him in a mighty way to build His kingdom. He went on to interpret the revelation in which Daniel saw himself capturing certain animals and locking them up while releasing others from a cage. He explained that the dream meant God intended to use him to bring deliverance to those under demonic oppression and to restrain the forces tormenting His people. He then instructed Daniel to keep the revelations to himself, not to share them with others, and not to allow his colleagues to hear about them, assuring him that they would speak again in due time.

Daniel left the office with great joy in his heart and returned to his daily church assignments. His relationship with Senior Prophet T. B. Joshua grew to resemble that of a father and son.

What surprised Daniel most was that although Prophet T. B. Joshua loved him deeply, he appeared to discipline him more strictly than others when it came to matters concerning church workers. Over time, some of his colleagues began to make jokes about him and occasionally questioned why his case was always treated more firmly than others. It was only later, when he was among those anointed as Wisemen, that he came to understand the reason. He realized that God Almighty disciplines those He loves deeply.

Before going deeper into the relationship between a master and a servant, a mentor and a mentee, and a teacher and a student, Daniel often reflects on the bond he shared with his late mentor, Prophet T. B. Joshua. He believes the nature of their relationship closely resembled that of Elijah and Elisha in the Scriptures.

This comparison is drawn from the complete dedication Elijah had toward God Almighty and the unwavering commitment Elisha had toward his master. Elisha did not come to know God through direct encounters at the beginning. Rather, he witnessed the power, goodness, humility, and character of God manifested through the life of Elijah. This moved Elisha to believe that through total submission, sincerity, and loyalty to his master, he could be connected to the same grace and divine enablement at work in Elijah. This belief shaped Elisha’s devotion, and in the end, he received the fulfillment of his heart’s desire.

Daniel is careful not to suggest that Elisha received greater power or strength than Elijah, as such an interpretation could suggest pride or arrogance. Instead, he understands that through genuine submission, humility of heart, and faithfulness, Elisha received sufficient mercy and favor from God to advance to another level in life, even after his master was taken away.

In the same manner, Daniel’s relationship with his mentor, Senior Prophet T. B. Joshua, followed a similar pattern. From the very first day he encountered him, Daniel was deeply moved by his humility, his respect for humanity, and his complete trust in and dependence on God Almighty for all things.

From a very young age, Daniel carried a strong passion and sincere desire to serve God with all his heart. He had never met anyone who pointed him to God with such clarity, depth, and humility as his prophet and mentor, Prophet T. B. Joshua.

Daniel first encountered Senior Prophet T. B. Joshua on the day he attended a service at the Synagogue Church of All Nations with his parents. During the service, while he was seated among the congregation, the prophet looked in his direction, noticed him, waved, and smiled. Daniel was deeply amazed by this gesture. He felt both excited and humbled and wondered why, among the many people present, the prophet would acknowledge him in such a manner. He reflected on this experience throughout the night.

The following day, Daniel shared the experience with his parents, explaining that it was the first time in his life he had seen a man of God acknowledge someone as young as he was with such humility and warmth. He expressed his conviction to his parents that this was a genuine man of God and resolved within himself to move closer to him and learn from him.
